New Zealand drum 'n' bass pioneering act Concord Dawn takes time out from jet-setting around the world to play its finest floor-fillers from its four albums in Queenstown tonight.
In the run-up to the Subculture gig, musician and DJ Matt Harvey tells us a few of his favourite things...
QT: What did you have for lunch today?
MH: I haven't had lunch yet! But yesterday I had pumpkin and Parmesan soup. You couldn't really taste the Parmesan; I think it was just an excuse to charge another dollar for it. Usually when I go to Italy I get myself a big old Parmigiano Reggiano - Grana Padano just won't do.
QT: What is your favourite food?
MH: Popcorn. Basically a butter and salt delivery mechanism.
QT: What is your favourite spot in Queenstown?
MH: Subculture. It's like Cheers for me, but without the fat postal workers.
QT: Queenstown needs more...
MH: Japanese restaurants. There really is a distinct lack of them.
QT: Queenstown needs less...
MH: Coldness.
QT: Who are your role models?
MH: All my heroes have been revealed to be w... for the most part. So I would have to go with Spider-Man.
QT: What was the latest CD you bought?
MH: Bring Me Your Love by City and Colour. It's awesomely mellow, but I preferred the album before, which was mostly songs about how much it sucks being on tour and not getting any from your missus.
QT: And the latest DVD?
MH: No idea to be honest! Watched a few movies on the plane; I liked Watchmen a lot.
QT: What is your favourite way to relax?
MH: Sleeping or watching football.
QT: What winds you up?
MH: Cars and air-conditioning. I don't own either and I think they will be our downfall.
QT: What cracks you up?
MH: Larry David.
QT: What are you reading at the moment?
MH: Was reading the Michael King, I think, History of New Zealand. 'Twas a good read. I can't read while I'm on the road, so it's sitting next to my bed in Vienna for two months on pause at the moment.
QT: Do you have a favourite quote you live by?
MH: I do but it's unprintable, I'm afraid.
QT: If you could do anything, what would it be?
MH: Travel in space. Just to the end of our solar system and back would do me.
