The $2 million transformation follows alterations to the luge track in 2006.
The upper level of the complex and gondola base will be upgraded by the end of next May.
Sales and marketing manager James Helmore said architects Warren and Mahoney had modernised the restaurant, with a greater efficiency of space and a clever use of lighting and dark colours framing the windows to highlight the panoramic views.
"The restaurant now features a contemporary decor with natural colours, a mix of walnut and leather panelling and a feature fireplace in the bar," he said.
"The area is much more inviting, with lower level lighting and segregated seating providing a much more intimate dining experience."
Mr Helmore said the buffet servery area was redesigned to improve customer flows around the selection of New Zealand cuisine.
New menus were introduced and the servery area featured a cooking area where customers could interact with the chefs.
"The renovation is world class and has completely changed the feel of the restaurant and bar," manager Blair Deasy said.
"The standard of this upgrade has set the benchmark for further developments planned for next year."
