Paul Halstead, senior station officer at Frankton Fire Brigade, takes a watery blast to the face in the stocks during a cyclone relief fundraiser at the Queenstown Events Centre.
Lions president Michael White watches on, fresh from being pelted with wet sponges himself.
The fundraiser yesterday was organised by the local Lions and Rotary clubs and Altrusa for people affected by February's devastating Cyclone Gabrielle in Hawke's Bay.
There was plenty of entertainment for all ages, including sack races, beat-the-goalkeeper, sausage sizzles and more.
