Microsoft-owned Xbox ran an 80-minute livestream show on Youtube, Facebook Gaming and Twitch to usher in its Series X and Series S consoles, which went on sale in New Zealand and Australia yesterday.

They replaced the Xbox One released in 2013 and will compete with the new Playstation 5.

Xbox had remained tight-lipped about the event and only a handful of people witnessed the light show on the Queenstown waterfront, while nearly 40,000 watched online.

Fergburger, Fergbaker and Mrs Ferg in Shotover St each launched a unique product to celebrate the consoles and the release of two major games, Assassin’s Creed and Destiny 2.

The Series X Burger, Viking Pie and specially created gelato will be available for the next 10 days.
