Six people have been taken to hospital with moderate to serious injuries after a van crashed near Clinton in Otago.
It happened within an hour of another accident in the same region today, police said.
The van had been full of shearers when it crashed at 6.21am.
Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said two passengers were flown to Dunedin Hospital in a serious condition.
Two passengers were taken by ambulance to Gore Medical Centre, while the other two were taken to Clutha Health.
Meanwhile, a man was pulled from his ute by emergency services after the vehicle he was driving slid off the road on State Highway 1.
He was taken by ambulance to hospital with minor to moderate injuries, Snr Sgt Dinnissen said.
Both crashes were caused by icy roads.
