Stacey Barnett won a two-minute shopping spree at New World Timaru. The early-morning timing meant she had the store to herself, allowing for an unobstructed dash through the aisles, racing against the clock.
The fundraiser was a resounding success, raising nearly $4500 for the school, thanks to support from the community.
New World Timaru owner Andrew Griffiths said it was a great promotion to be involved with, providing the supermarket with an opportunity to give back to the local community.
Timaru Girls’ High School principal Deb Hales said the money would benefit the school, providing much-needed resources and opportunities for students.
"The overwhelming support from the community has been deeply appreciated."
As well as the winner taking away $500 of groceries, students also got right in behind the fundraiser with five girls selling over 10 sheets of tickets each.
The student with the most tickets sold was Jade Potatau with 180, earning her a voucher for The Warehouse.
