A Milton family is looking for long-term accommodation after the recent flood left their home unliveable.
Clutha District Council acting recovery manager Jean Proctor said the council’s building control team had visited more than 20 homes in Milton this week to check whether residents could safely return to them.
Most had returned home, but two families were still in temporary accommodation.
One was looking for long-term accommodation and the other might require some medium-term accommodation until they could return home, she said.
The building team had also checked potentially affected properties in Lawrence, Tapanui and Kaitangata.
Conserve water notices were no longer in place for Milton and Tapanui.
A conserve water notice for Waitahuna had also been lifted, but one remained in place for Waihola over the weekend.
The boil water notice for the Richardson North Rural Water Scheme and Whitelea Rd area also remained in place over the weekend.
Titri Rd, Taieri Ferry Rd, Young Rd/Lake Rd and Cross Rd (near Tapanui) remain closed.
