Police are investigating the theft of three quad bikes from Kaitangata last week.
Acting Sergeant Robin Hutton, of Balclutha, said the three bikes were stolen from a rural property in Summerhill Rd near Kaitangata on the night of September 21.
The bikes, a Suzuki 250cc and two Honda CRX300 Big Red quad bikes, were kept in a locked paddock off the road.
Access was gained by cutting the padlock on the gate.
Police believed items in the paddock were used to create a ``makeshift ramp'' in order to load the bikes on to a vehicle.
Acting Sgt Hutton said the Honda bikes had after-market spotlights attached.
Police inquiries were continuing.
Anyone with any information on the thefts or anyone who might have seen the bikes was asked to contact Balclutha police (03) 418-0203 or Crimestoppers 0800-555-111.
