Local Legend: Kathleen Gallagher

This week’s winner of the Silver Fern Farms ‘‘Local Legend’’ prize is Kathleen Gallagher, of Owaka, who was nominated for her efforts in instigating the Owaka Senior Citizens group 41 years ago.

Since then, she has given her time setting up and providing a space for monthly meetings, mentoring, arranging funeral flowers for funerals, and generally checking in on other members.

Congratulations to Kathleen, whose nominator said she was "very deserving" of the prize.
