Tokomairiro Training Centre (TT), which specialised in training professionals for the forestry sector, would need to move from its premises at 47 Ajax St before construction of the town’s new pool/library complex began.
Some Milton residents, believing TT needed to move by the end of this month, were concerned the centre would not be able to move into new premises without halting operation because one building had not passed inspection.
Further concerns were raised on social media regarding how the new premises would be financed, and the timeline for the new pool and library.
"Toko Training were always going to move from current council leased premises to make way for the pool/library development," Clutha District Council chief executive Steve Hill said.
"When they actually move depends on the progress of the development ... They are still operating from the current premises.

"[The] council is doing work on the property, some of which is at the request of Toko Training and some of which is our choice as property owner. The cost of such work is capitalised and recovered via the lease, again at no cost to the ratepayer.
"It is an investment that also supports a fantastic local community enterprise, and we will be generating an investment return."
The Clutha Leader understands the purchase price of the new building was $550,000.
Mr Hill said how long TT would remain at its current premises would depend on the progress of the pool development, a period which could not yet be defined as the council was still working towards the signing of a contract for the project.
A spokesperson for Tokomairiro Training was contacted and asked for comment.
"We would just like to say that we are grateful to the council for the support that they are giving us," she said.
