South Otago residents with an interest in sport will get to hear from a former Balclutha woman who has achieved many notable highs in sports administration.
New Zealand Academy of Sport (South Island) chief executive Kereyn Smith, a former head girl at South Otago High School, will be the speaker at the Coaches Club event on September 11, which has been planned by Sport Clutha.
The meetings are held throughout the year to inspire sportsmen and coaches.
Mrs Smith is vice-president of the International Netball Federation Ltd, and a trustee of the Carisbrook Stadium Trust. She is also a former general manager of the Hillary Commission for Sport, and she once served as secretary to former Sports Minister John Banks.
