Vickie Evans, of Kaitangata, has taken top honours at the Southern Alps Country Music Awards.
At the finals in Timaru during Easter, Mrs Evans was named overall winner of the senior section.
Mrs Evans (nee Dick) had been entering the competitions for years and said she was "stoked" with the win.
"You go there and take your chances and hope you do well."
Ron Gallagher, of Owaka, won the senior traditional guitar playing section for the third consecutive year.
