A man charged with murdering his wife in Te Anau has entered a not guilty plea.
Rodney Stewart Fallowfield (52) appeared by audiovisual link in the High Court at Invercargill yesterday.
His plea was entered by his lawyer Peter Redpath.
Police started a homicide investigation after the body of his wife Shirley Alaina Reedy, of Balclutha, was found at a Cleddau St, Te Anau, address on May 15.
It has been reported the body of the 52-year-old was found at a motel.
Justice Cameron Mander remanded Fallowfield in custody until his next appearance in September.
In another case, the man charged with the murder of Azalia Wilson has been remanded until his next appearance on August 26.
Samuel Samson was charged with murder after Ms Wilson’s body was found at a hotel in Waikiwi on November 17 last year.
His mother, Patricia Samson, who has been charged with two charges of accessory after the fact to murder also appeared in the High Court at Invercargill yesterday.
Both had earlier pled not guilty to the charges.
