Two people were injured, one seriously, when a car crashed into a power pole near Gore last night.
Police said they were alerted to the crash - on State Highway 1 between MacGibbon Rd and Adams Rd - about 11.30pm.
St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said two patients, one in a serious condition and one in a moderate condition, were taken to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter.
Traffic was diverted for a time.
