Tourist's car in collision

A three-car, nose-to-tail collision occurred in Union St, Milton, on Monday, after an Italian tourist mistakenly applied the brakes of her rental car.

All three cars were moderately damaged, but none of the occupants was injured, Milton police said.

The cars were travelling about 40kmh when the accident occurred, and Senior Constable Steve Griffiths said tickets might be issued for following too closely.

• An 18-year-old Beaumont man is being spoken to by police after a airgun pellet was fired at a car travelling through Beaumont on Monday afternoon.

There was minor damage to the vehicle.

• A 35-year-old Outram man was taken to Dunedin Hospital with suspected concussion, after rolling his four-wheel-drive motorbike at Titri Park motocross track on Monday night.
