Ms Moore now lives in Christchurch but embarked on a mission with her partner Grant MacKinnon and dog Sam to walk the coastline of the lower South Island.
The trio are completing the walk incrementally, doing about 15km a day when they get a chance.
Last week, they arrived in Oamaru.
They will make their way south until they hit Bluff and then venture back up the north Fiordland coast.
The couple are documenting their journey on their Facebook page, The Walk of Goodness.
