In a statement, Egis said the second round of community engagement had been completed and 1133 online survey responses were received along with 87 people attending in-person sessions.
Egis New Zealand and South Pacific advisory lead Geoff Anderson said the high level of engagement underlined the community’s passion for the airport and the desire to have input into its future.
"The significant volume of responses from the community engagement and the comprehensive feedback, provides a good base for developing recommendations for the future direction of Wānaka Airport."
The second round of consultation asked whether the airport should: close, be general aviation only, have regional domestic links, have domestic links including Auckland or add on international flights.
Egis would continue to review the feedback received and provide interim results to Queenstown Lakes District Council before producing a final report that included recommendations for the future of the airport.
The report would be
presented to the council in November, he said.
