After five years’ debate, the final version of the plan for developing a long stretch of the Wanaka lakefront has been signed and sealed.
The Wanaka Community Board at its meeting yesterday approved the design for stage two of the Queenstown Lakes District Council’s lakefront development plan.
It covers about 700m of the lakefront in front of Pembroke Park.
Council staff are now able to develop detailed plans for what has been the most contentious part of the five-stage lakefront development.
Stage two will cost $2.8million, and the total cost could be more than $13million.
