Snow not finished falling yet

There appears to be no end to the snow this spring, as the mountains west of Luggate again displayed their belated winter colours after snow at the weekend.

The forecast yesterday was for more light snow last night, turning to drizzle today.

The one piece of good news is that temperatures should begin to improve, and more sun should shine, as next weekend approaches.

The road to Milford Sound is due to remain closed today because of the increased avalanche risk resulting from last night's forecast heavy rain and snow, but it is expected that it will reopen late tomorrow morning.
