Two  people were injured in a crash between a car and a truck outside Wanaka's Puzzling World yesterday.

Police and emergency services were called to the crash on State Highway 84 at 12.20pm.

St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said one person had moderate injuries, and the other minor injuries. Both were taken to the Wanaka Medical Centre.

Constable Aubrey Martin, who attended the crash, told the Otago Daily Times the two injured people were the sole occupants of their vehicles.

The car was believed to have pulled out of the Puzzling World car park and into the path of the truck, Const Martin said.

The car was severely damaged. The truck, which had Mitre 10 signage, was also damaged.

The road was cleared by 12.55pm.
