Info sought on woman still missing on West Coast

Police are appealing for any information that could help them find a woman who went missing on the West Coast.

Detective Sergeant Kirsten Norton of Greymouth said Shelly Crooks (36) was last sighted in the Punakaiki area on December 22 last year.

She was last seen walking the local tracks and possibly hitchhiked north, Det Sgt Norton said.

Ms Crooks is 180 cm (6ft) tall and of medium/solid build, she said.

She was described as wearing a blue/grey rain jacket, black three-quarter pants and running shoes and was possibly walking with a driftwood walking stick and carrying a blue/purple Kathmandu tramping pack, Det Sgt Norton said.

She said the police have been making enquiries since Ms Crooks was reported missing.
