Police have released the name of the man who died in a crash on the West Coast on Monday.
He was Kai Yuan Seow, of Singapore.
He was visiting New Zealand and driving a rental car when it collided with another vehicle, also driven by a tourist, on State Highway 6 south of Hokitika.
Two other people suffered moderate injuries.
The serious crash unit is investigating.
