In year 10 she received a school award for best academic, cultural and sporting achievement and added to the trophy cabinet with school awards in geography, horticultural and agricultural studies last year.
While Anita enjoys participating in school netball and tennis events, her main interest is music.
She plays violin in the school orchestra and bass guitar in the school rock band "Three Frets Down", which competed in this year's Smokefreerockquest.
"I started playing because a violin was given to me and found I really enjoyed it. People can get put off by feeling like they have to do really well in competitions but I like taking part and meeting people at the festivals."
Anita, who enjoys "numbers and management", takes school council board meetings and sits on interhouse competition committees.
These experiences have helped her develop communication skills and have given an insight into the art of diplomacy.
"I have learnt a lot about how to encourage people to come out of their shell and how certain people respond differently to pressure. I have also developed more confidence as a senior pupil."
