People in an Invercargill bookshop got a bit of a shock yesterday afternoon after a motorist drove through the front entrance.

A police spokesman said police responded to the crash at 1pm.

One person was taken to hospital by ambulance to be assessed.

The crash left the front doors broken and books of The Book Exchange store strewn about.
