The Southern Stomp returns next month with a jam-packed weekend of country music and fun.

The second annual Southern Stomp will be held on November 1 and 2, after a successful first run last year.

Audiences at the Gore Town & Country Club can expect another round of shoe-tapping, dancing, hootin’ and hollerin’ throughout the weekend.

The event begins each day at 10am with an hour of line dancing, followed up by a rotation of guest artists, along with walk-up concerts for those who would like to get up on stage themselves.

The local and international talent includes Briar Sharp, Heather Thacker, Peter Cairns and 2025 Gold Guitar winner Keily Smith, as well as previous Gold Guitar winner Jenny Mitchell and Australian country superstar Adam Harvey.

Harvey was a guaranteed crowd-pleaser and would be headlining the Saturday night show, convener Julie Mitchell said.

"He’s been here before several years ago, but he’s an all-time favourite. Everybody loves him — he is well worth seeing," she said.

Early bird tickets were available now at $70 for a weekend pass.

Motorhome parking would also be available.

Mrs Mitchell said it was a great chance to not only enjoy a fun weekend out and about, but also for country music fans and performers to come together.

"Last year people travelled down from all throughout New Zealand.

"We had a really good day of entertainment and entertainers we hadn’t seen before, which was exciting.

"But we also value our local musicians. We want them to come along in their clubs, around Otago and Southland.

"We hope they will come as well," she said.
