James Ross and Janet Main scooped the men's and women's MVP awards at the club prizegiving at the Edgar Centre last night.
Neither award came as a surprise as both led their respective teams to championships on the back of stellar individual seasons.
Ross (25) scored a season-high 296 points at an average of 19.7 points per game. He scored fewer than 12 points just once in 15 games and topped 24 points four times.
He scorched the Bombers for 30 points on the back of seven three-pointers in the men's A grade final last month, sealing St Kilda's fourth title since 2008.
It was not just his offensive game which warranted the award. Defensively, Ross wreaked havoc for opposing sides, consistently clogging the passing lanes and racking up steals.
The St Kilda point guard, who also won the MVP award in 2009, made himself unavailable for the Nuggets this season due to work commitments, but hopes to be back in the fold next season.
Main (25) captained Ajax to a seventh straight women's winter league title last month, scoring 19 points in the 49-42 win against Varsity A in the decider.
The Ajax and Goldrush point guard won the award for a second time after another consistently good season at club level. Her ability to drive into traffic and dish to her team-mates, or pull up for mid-range jumpers, made her a pesky proposition.
The Bombers, who lost to St Kilda in the men's A grade final, finished the season with the competition's equivalent of the Ranfurly Shield, the Dunedin City Ford Trophy. Every team in the competition, but the Falcons, held it at least once this season.
Varsity won the best club award for the second time. Its 12 teams all paid and registered on time and none defaulted a game.
Rae Garland and Joe Torrence shared the referee of the year award.
