But a shadow hangs over his future international prospects until a Bowls New Zealand judicial hearing is held next month.
He was a member of the New Zealand four at the Asia and Pacific championships in Malaysia two months ago, when the team was accused of deliberately losing a match against Thailand 17-15.
The four of Jamie Hill, Sincock, Shannon McIlroy and Gary Lawson has been suspended from the New Zealand Commonwealth Games squad until after the judicial hearing late next month.
Sincock (44), a Christchurch courier, has been playing bowls for 24 years and made the New Zealand team for the first time this year.
He made an encouraging start to his international career by winning a silver medal in the triples and reaching the quarter-finals in the fours at Kuala Lumpur.
It was a big learning opportunity in Malaysia because it was a new experience to play on the slow greens, which ran between 8 and 10 seconds, in temperatures that reached 35degC with high humidity to make things even harder.
"I had to drink a lot of water," he said.
Sincock also learnt a lot about the tactics of the game.
"Every bowl must be in play," he said.
He has a special target to make the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi next year because his partner, Wendy Thorpe, narrowly missed selection in the New Zealand cycling team when the Commonwealth Games were held at Auckland in 1990.
She excelled on the road and track but finished third in the trials and missed the cut when only the first two place-getters in her event were selected.
Sincock has been a stalwart of the Speight's-sponsored North East Valley Invitation singles since playing in the inaugural event in 1990.
He has shown his consistency against the best bowlers in the country by reaching the last eight in three in the past four years.
"Its a tough tournament," Sincock said.
"There are no easy games."
Sincock, an attacking bowler with a strong drive, has not yet won a New Zealand championship title but has finished runner-up in the singles and triples.
He won a title in the national champions of champions fours and was a member of the winning Canterbury team in the inter-centre competition.
