A roundup of premier club cricket games played in Dunedin at the weekend.

Carisbrook-Dunedin-Kaikorai 104 beat Green Island 79

The bowlers were lining up to get their hands on the ball at Tonga Park on Saturday.

CDK were rolled for a modest 104.

They only got to triple figures because No 10 Krishna Panjtoori smashed three sixes on his way to 30 from 16 balls.

It did not seem like it would be a winning score. But it was plenty in the context of this game.

Green Island crumbled to be all out for 79.

Hamish Wilson (five for 26) nabbed a five-wicket bag for Green Island, and Otago all-rounder Jake Gibson returned from a niggle to take three for nine from five overs.

But the chase fell apart early.

Thomas O’Connor (five for 45) and Harry Sixton (four for 21) teamed up to take five wickets in 11 balls for CDK.

O’Connor got three in one over and Sixton two in the other, and Green Island slumped to 14 for five.

No 9 Jacob Gilbert (19) and No 10 Mayank Malhotra (15) attempted a fightback, but this was not a wicket the batters would want to roll up and take home with them.

North East Valley 280/7 beat Albion 161

North East Valley opener Sebastian Lauderdale-Smith struck a patient century to help set up a 119-run win over Albion at Logan Park.

Lauderdale-Smith picked the deliveries he wanted to attack and nudged his way to 108 from 154 balls.

He batted for 45 overs before he was eventually run out.

He teamed up with Hunter Kindley (51 from 63) to forge a 125-run stand for the third wicket.

Nikith Perera (27) and Andrew Sheridan (26) chipped in.

Patrick Arnold was the best of the Albion bowlers with two for 38 from eight overs.

Hugo Bogue clipped 68 from 89 balls at the top of the order for the Eagles, and Joshua Olliver made 43.

But no-one else was able to make a substantial contribution and Albion was bowled out for 161.

Perera claimed three for 36 and Kaleb McKay took two for 17.

Bogue has scores of 101, 148, 48 and 68 for a total of 365 runs at an average of 91.25 this month.

Taieri 305/8 beat University-Grange 62

University-Grange slumped to a fourth heavy defeat as they were crushed by 243 runs by Taieri at Brooklands.

It was not even their worst defeat this month. That dubious honour goes to the 260-run loss to Albion in round two, while the eight-wicket losses to Green Island and North East Valley help paint a picture of a team out of its depth.

Taieri rattled on 305 for eight.

Jack Kelly blasted 103 from 110 balls to celebrate his first senior ton for the club.

Ruben Clinton (45 from 63) and Cameron Elliott (45 from 59) added value, and No 8 Matthew Parker’s knock of 43 from 20 balls was fun.

Vinay Chandrappa (three for 54) had some success with the ball for University-Grange.

But there was no success to be had with the bat.

Kyle Hastie ran through their lineup, finishing with five for 13 as University-Grange folded for 62.

They have strung together scores of 103, 50, 129 and 62 for a total of 344 at an average of 86 this month.
