Tim and Shirley Blanchard have sold up and are ready to retire, they told the Oamaru Mail.
The couple have loved their time at the busy bistro, they said.
"We’ve done our dash. It’s time to sit back and relax a bit," Mrs Blanchard said.
"If we were younger we’d be staying. We’re both touching on 69 in a month so it’s our time to move on," Mr Blanchard said.
"It has been good to us and we’ve enjoyed our time here but we can’t go forever."
The business had been sold to "two local couples", she said.
Mr Blanchard wished them well.
"I’m quite happy that it’s going to good people that are going to give it another boost and take it to the next step."
The Blanchards’ last day as owners will be May 17.
"We would just like to thank everybody that has supported us over the years."
