Kaikorai 259 beat Taieri 94 by 165 runs.
Kaikorai batted first against Taieri, but got off to a nervous start as opening bowlers Brad Frost and Josh Milne were impressive early on.
After finding themselves four for 36, Kaikorai batsmen Geordie Scott (79) and Hamish Robertson (108) combined to bat superbly and drag their team out of a rut. The pair put on 128 in emphatic fashion which saw their team through to 259 shortly after Robertson was dismissed.
Taieri struggled from the outset as it attempted to chase down the large total. Jackson Latham produced his best bowling figures of the season as he took five for 33 and made a significant contribution for Kaikorai.
Taieri could not form a partnership and was dismissed for only 91 in the 30th over as Kaikorai secured an easy victory.
University-Grange 140 lost to Carisbrook-Dunedin 144/2 by eight wickets
University-Grange faced Carisbrook-Dunedin on Saturday at Tonga Park and elected to bat first. It lost a couple of early wickets, but recovered as Alex Fill (39) and Michael Haddleton (51*) got their side back on track.
Tim McCormick bowled well and took three wickets when Fill was eventually dismissed, which lead to a lower order collapse. Only one of the last six batsmen made it to double figures as Haddleton ran out of partners and University-Grange was dismissed for a mediocre 140.
Carisbrook-Dunedin responded by completely obliterating the total.
The batsmen were forceful in dominating the University-Grange bowlers. Brad Rodden scored 68 and Kieran Eathorne (51*) which put the result beyond doubt and allowed their side to clinch an easy win.
North East Valley 218/6 lost to Albion 219/8 by two wickets
Albion took on North East Valley, which batted first and, despite losing an early wicket, constructed a very good innings. Adam Miles (38), D Thompson (32) and Michael Rae (41) all contributed by supporting Lance Taylor who scored a fantastic innings of 76.
These efforts allowed North East Valley to post a solid 218 for six. Albion took on the challenge and opener Tom Dixon (29) saw through the early attack to combine with Mark Somerville and he made it through to 93 before being dismissed.
However, Somerville battled on as he was joined by Jamie Glenn and the two occupied the crease until the total was at 173.
Somerville was eventually caught for 83 and Glenn made 46 before Sam Blakely got him, along with two others. But the damage had been done and Albion scraped through for the win with two wickets in hand.
Otago Boys' High School 36 lost to Green Island 37/0 by ten wickets
The unthinkable happened at Sunnyvale on Saturday where OBHS lost heavily to Green Island. OBHS batted first and Green Island bowler Dion Lobb bowled the spell of his life to take nine wickets for only 15 runs off 14 overs.
He dominated the youngsters and they were no match for his prowess. His spell meant OBHS was dismissed for a measly 36.
The outcome was inevitable as the OBHS side was no match for the Green Island team which coasted to the total without losing a wicket. Gregor Croudis scored 22* but the result was solely achieved by the spectacular efforts of Lobb.
