South African captain Graeme Smith hinted the first test against the Black Caps was in Dunedin "for a reason".
He did not elaborate further but we all know it is a slur on our wonderful climate.
Well, the left-handed opener need not worry so much.
According to the MetService website, some showers are expected this morning but the forecast for the next four days of the test is reasonably positive.
Tomorrow, Friday and Saturday should see some cloud cover but otherwise fine. And on Sunday dry weather and light winds are forecast.
