Can you name the player?
Accompanying the obituary were two photographs which in the Otago Daily Times archives were captioned as being of Mr Alabaster in action, but which did not identify what match the photographs were taken at. Furthermore, one photograph was not actually of Mr Alabaster. We apologise to the Alabaster family.
Three readers have offered suggestions as to who the players were and the match they were playing in, but each response nominated a different game. If anyone is able to offer a definitive answer to these questions, please contact obituaries@odt.co.nz.
