Classy Green Island all-rounder Geordie Scott thrashed 92 to help his side beat Carisbrook-Dunedin in a 50-over game at Tonga Park on Saturday.
The hard-hitting right-hander played a starring role for Green Island on Wednesday, when he smashed an undefeated 103 from just 55 deliveries to help his side beat Taieri in the regional club knockout final.
He was at it again at the weekend. He flayed six sixes and 12 boundaries in a 57-ball onslaught to help his side overhaul Carisbrook-Dunedin’s total of 227 for seven.
Veteran all-rounder Mark Joyce played a supporting role with 83 from 97. The team had been in a spot of trouble at 49 for three but the pair put on 137 for the fourth wicket to set up what was a comprehensive win in the end.
Carisbrook-Dunedin’s Henry Workman got his side through to a decent total with 95 not out. The No3 batsman scored at a good clip — almost run-a-ball — but ran out of overs to post a century.
Green Island left-arm pace bowler Blair Soper shone with the ball. He took two for 29 from his 10 overs.

lost to Taieri 216 for nine
Tailenders Clint Hayward and Quentin Gare emerged as unlikely heroes for Taieri.They steered their side to a tense one-wicket win against North East Valley at Brooklands Park, with a clutch 15-run partnership to clinch victory.
Valley appeared to have the game under control. Cameron Jackson (51) and Jarryd Taig (46) had done well for Taieri. But at 143 for seven, the home team looked done.
But Tim King (30) and Riley Dixon (22) inched their side closer to the victory target of 213.
When they were both removed, Taieri was 201 for nine and one mistake away from defeat. Hayward scored an undefeated 18 from 19 deliveries, while Gare protected his wicket.
Valley all-rounder Bailey Andrews-Kennedy could not have done much more. He took five for 36 in a wonderful spell and top-scored with 64 from 70.Thorn Parkes also made a solid contribution to Valley’s total with 43.
Regan Flaws (four for 48) and Beckham Wheeler-Greenall (three for 33) were the most successful Taieri bowlers, while Brad Frost’s one for 22 from eight overs deserves an honourable mention.
Uni-Grange 109
lost to Kaikorai 110 for two
Kaikorai needed just 16.1 overs to overhaul University-Grange’s paltry total of 109 and take an eight-wicket win at Bishopscourt.
Grange has struggled in its comeback season and was well beaten again.
Harrison Biggs top-scored with 31 and the likes of Sam Noden and Andrew Hore got starts, but the innings lacked substance.
Taine Bayly tore through the lower order with four for 13 from 6.5 overs, and Jeremy Smallridge accounted for the middle order with four for 30 from 10.
Rhys Bayly swatted 24 from 20. Matt Hunter hit five fours and a six in his knock of 38, and Fergus Ellis provided some panache at the end with an undefeated 34 from 28 balls to secure an early finish.
