Tyler McCleery (11) was rather pleased with himself after he caught this towering catch during a cricket promotion at the University Oval yesterday.

Dunedin City Council events and special projects co-ordinator Tammy Jackman said the event was an opportunity for "the kids to have a go at batting and do some training with some of the local Volts".

They also got a chance to visit the Longroom at the venue and listen to some stories from Otago stalwart Warren Lees.

But perhaps the highlight was getting to watch the Black Caps train.

But then again, Tyler’s catch, and his reaction, were pretty special.
