Beckham shook hands, signed autographs and flashed his million-dollar smile as he posed for photographs with a handful of children in the hospital's neuroscience ward.
The LA Galaxy midfielder wasted no time endearing himself to the patients and the media throng, kissing baby Allegra Fewson-Ward and her blushing mother, Jackie, as soon as he entered the room.
"I hope it helps with her healing, maybe he's got the healing kiss," Jackie said.
Beckham's visit comes just weeks after Queen Elizabeth officially cut the ribbon on the new hospital building.
Beckham is in Melbourne with the Galaxy for a friendly match against Melbourne Victory.
