FootballSouth Premier League leader Caversham and second-placed Dunedin Technical will clash in a championship title fight at the Caledonian Ground today.
The winner of the match will have its title destiny in its own hands, while the loser will need other results to go its way to make up lost ground.
A draw will favour Dunedin Technical, assuming it collects maximum points from each of its remaining games.
That would leave Technical one point clear of Caversham, providing the league leader wins its final two games.
Caversham has 44 points and two remaining fixtures following today's game. Dunedin Technical, on 33 points, has played four fewer games, due to Chatham Cup fixtures and a waterlogged pitch postponing its match with Green Island.
The rivals have a win apiece from their earlier matches against each other this season.
Caversham thumped Technical 5-1 in the opening clash in April, but Technical turned the tables with a quality performance and solid 2-0 win in June.
Dunedin Technical will be without injured central defender Andrew Douglas, who suffered a broken leg when he landed awkwardly as he headed away a regulation clearance at Forrester Park last Saturday during Tech's close escape over Northern.
Caversham will field a full-strength team and will be confident after a hard-fought victory over Green Island.
In-form Queenstown Rovers will host Roslyn-Wakari at the Event Centre.
The local side has suffered only a narrow loss against Technical in its past five outings.
Rovers has recorded some impressive recent victories over Northern, Caversham and University and will go into the match with confidence.
Roslyn-Wakari has struggled for consistency this season due to player availability but is always hard to beat.
Roslyn will travel without central defender Rory McLeod, who has family commitments.
Also out are midfielder Isaac Nicholson and goalie Mike Rae.
Mosgiel will field a weakened team against Northern at Memorial Park.
On the sidelines will be the injured Regan Coldicott, midfielder Morgan Day, who is being rested, and Cody Brook, who will miss the match through suspension.
In the final game of the round, Green Island will be seeking support from its club members to provide sideline encouragement as it eyes three valuable points against visiting University, which has been in patchy form in recent weeks.
