Technical will be looking to reverse the result of the last clash between the sides, when Caversham finished strongly to win a Chatham Cup tie three weeks ago.
Coach Mike Fridge will have a fully fit Technical squad and his side will be confident going into the match after some good league performances, including last week's 4-1 win over Green Island at Sunnyvale.
Technical has 26 points after 11 games, while third-placed Caversham has 23 points and a game in hand.
Caversham will welcome back brothers Mike and Will Smith, after their sojourn overseas, so coach Tim Horner will have the luxury of a full-strength squad for this important fixture.
In another top-of-the-table clash, second-placed Roslyn-Wakari will welcome fourth-placed University to Ellis Park.
Roslyn coach Colin Thom will require goalkeeper cover after regular custodian Danniel Becheri injured his shoulder last week against Old Boys. Fortunately, experienced keeper Peter Evans is available to step into the breach.
James Watson and Cam Attwood are also both on deck after serving recent suspensions.
University will take a full-strength team into the match, and observers from both clubs will watch Peter Rae with interest. The striker has shown consistently good form all season and is one of the top local scorers with 10 league goals and three in the Chatham Cup.
Green Island will travel to Ocean Grove, aiming to wrest three points from a desperate bottom-placed Grants Braes team that struggled to contain a rampant University in its last outing.
Green Island will be without midfielder Nathan Gunn and speed merchant Taylor McCormack, both ruled out through illness.
Grants Braes will have a settled team to start the match and will call on some of the club's stalwarts like Shane Carvell to bolster the playing ranks.
Mosgiel (eighth) hosts Northern (sixth) at Memorial Park. Mosgiel coach Mike McGarry will look to Otago United players Morgan Day and Regan Coldicott to spark his side as it mounts a campaign over the final seven games to finish top of the bottom five group.
Northern will welcome back striker Angus Milne to the team but will be without Pierre Jones, who is unavailable due to injury. With regular keeper Blair Brown back in good form, Northern has put in back-to-back quality defensive performances, with consecutive clean sheets recorded.
In the final game of the round, Invercargill Old Boys travels to Queenstown.
