Alexandra hosting NZ women’s masters

Some of the most talented and seasoned women’s golfers in New Zealand are gathering in the South for an annual tournament.

The New Zealand Women’s Masters starts at the Alexandra Golf Club tomorrow.

It features 13 four-women teams, including defending champion Bay of Plenty-Thames Valley.

The tournament will be played as a gross stableford with the best three scores each round counting.

Round one is tomorrow, rounds two and three are played on Saturday, and the final round is on Sunday.

Otago has a team boasting both tournament experience and local knowledge.

Liz McRae (Wanaka), Tracey Storer (Belleknowes) and Susan Greig (St Clair) have all played for Otago at previous Masters tournaments.

Making her debut will be Alexandra golfer Mary Hore, who no doubt has some key insights into the trickiest holes.
