A bit of royalty came to the New Zealand Open yesterday. Peter Phillips, the son of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, played in the Pro-Am and was teamed up with Australian veteran Peter Fowler.

The grandson of Queen Elizabeth was in the Pro-am section of the Open as part of his role as ISPS Handa ambassador. Former English cricketer Ian Botham, a regular at the Open in recent years, was also in Phillips' group. He teamed up with Australian Tim Hart on the Hills course.

Phillips and Fowler finished on four under in a tie for 93rd while Botham and Hart finished on five under and are tied for 69th. The teams will play again today.
