The eight Canterbury golfers beat all other provinces, amassing a game tally of 29.5 out of a possible 32 during the tournament.
Five of the Christchurch-based golfers won all their games in the event while the No8 player, Maddie May, finished unbeaten with three wins and a half.
The only other player in the field to emerge unbeaten was Aorangi No8 Judith Yates, who had three wins and a half.
Otago's effort was much improved on its last interprovincial outing. It beat Aorangi, Southland and Tasman to finish second with three points and a game tally of 19.
Tasman came in third and Aorangi fourth, while Southland took last place.
Otago was without the services of Abigael Crawford who is sitting her university finals examinations.
Otago fielded a young team, with Danielle Bailey at No1, Annabel Evans (16) at No2 and 12-year-old Sumin Kang playing at No4.
Bailey won three of her games at No1, as did Susan Greig, who continued her recent winning form.
Evans had two wins and a half while Kang finished with a 50% record for her debut tournament.
Much interest will now be centred on the selection of the five players and reserve to compete in the national interprovincial event in December.
The second-placing in the South Island event with such a young contingent augurs well for the future of Otago women's golf.
