New Zealand’s Shane van Gisbergen will have one more chance to avoid elimination in the Nascar Cup Series playoffs when the series heads to Bristol, Tennesse, tomorrow.
He is 15 points below the cut line, in 14th, heading into the last race before the round of 12.
The road-course ace will be out of his element on the high banks of the concrete, half-mile oval but could capitalise on others’ misfortune at a track known for its beating and banging.
"I really struggled there in the spring, it’s a tough track for someone like me," the former Supercars champion said.
