A seasoned sporting leader and a high performance specialist have joined Netball New Zealand.
Jane Patterson has taken over as interim chief executive following Jennie Wyllie stepping down late last year, and Chelsea Lane joins as the head of high performance for the Silver Ferns.
Patterson, who starts in the role on Monday, served as the chief executive of the Netball World Cup when New Zealand hosted it in 2007, spent four years as the chief operations officer and chief marketing officer for Ironman Asia Pacific, and was the chief operating officer for the Fifa Women’s World Cup in New Zealand in 2023.
She recently wrapped up as the interim chief executive of Badminton New Zealand.
"My immediate focus as interim CEO is to provide stability, clarity, and support across the organisation," Patterson said.
"This is a time to listen, to connect with our staff and communities nationwide, and to ensure netball is well positioned for the future — both on and off the court."
Lane previously worked with several NBA franchises — including transforming the Atlanta Hawks to a leading side and contributing to several titles with the Golden State Warriors — and helped strengthen high performance at New Zealand Cricket and Basketball New Zealand.
"Chelsea’s proven ability to align performance, people and culture will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen the Silver Ferns programme," Silver Ferns coach Noeline Taurua said.
"I’m looking forward to working closely with her as we prepare for the challenges and opportunities ahead."
