Southern A and University-Albion A won both their games in a double round of the Dunedin premier club competition played at the Edgar Centre at the weekend.
On Saturday, Southern beat College A 61-43 and Uni-Albion A thumped Phys Ed B 81-25.
Yesterday, Phys Ed A completed its mission with a 69-44 win over College A, while Southern backed up from Saturday's big win with an equally decisive victory over Phys Ed B, 67-35.
Southern quickly gained the ascendancy against Phys Ed B, scoring off its own centre passes and capitalising on any misdirected Phys Ed passes.
Phys Ed B shooter Jo Morrison had an accurate first quarter, scoring nine of her 10 attempts at goal. However, her team was unable to secure her enough ball.
Southern led 21-13 at the first quarter break.
Phys Ed B wing defence Georgia Allison had a strong performance, taking advantage of any opportunities that came her way.
She was successful with her defensive effort around the circle edge and gained valuable ball for her team-mates.
Southern had talent throughout the court, from Storm Purvis (goal defence), who linked well with Gina Crampton (centre), who passed to Te Paea Selby-Rickit (goal attack). By halftime, Southern led 37-23.
Phys Ed B was more competitive in the second half, although the game was never in any doubt and Southern coasted home.
Uni-Albion A topped its successful weekend with a hearty 72-45 win over Phys Ed A.
