Pelasio key as College A take victory

It was a tightly contested match between College A and University-Albion B with College A winning 55-45 in the eighth round of the Dunedin premier club competition on Saturday.

College led 13-11 at the first break and continued their push ahead with the halftime score being 26-23.

Talei Pelasio (GS) dominated the shooting circle, landing 29 of her 35 attempts at goal to run at 82.8%.

Brenna Lyons (GA) was also on point with her shooting in key moments.

College’s combination of Annie Temu (WD) and Greer O’Rourke (GD) were on form with their defence.

College kept their advantage and nudged ahead 41-34 at the three-quarter break.

Albion were trying hard to close the gap, and defenders Galilee Hiko (GD) and Char’lee Jones (GK) were doing everything they could to prevent Lyons and Pelasio from scoring.

Goal shoot Lucy Crawford was looking good at the other end as she shot a remarkable 100% for University-Albion B.

The Southern Magpies and South Pac Titans Tāiko played out a close encounter, South Pac holding on for a 56-54 win.

Physed A had a 42-35 win over University-Albion A.

In the next round, Physed A play University-Albion B, University-Albion A play South Pac Titans Taiko, and College A play Southern Magpies.
