Godfrey (19), a student at the University of Otago, won 12 medals - four gold, four silver and four bronze - at the New Zealand spring short course championships.
This included six Otago records, with two of the most significant coming in the last two days when she won bronze medals in the women's aged 17 and 18 grade.
She broke longstanding records set by former Olympians Liz van Welie (2000in Sydney) and Anna Wilson (1996 in Atlanta).
Godfrey broke van Welie's 2001 100m butterfly record in the heat with a time of 1min 01.94sec and reduced it further in the final to 1min 01.39sec.
She broke Wilson's 1993 Otago open record in the 200m freestyle with her heat time of 2min 02.41sec and reduced it further in the final with a time of 2min 01.36sec.
Godfrey is a member of coach Gennadiy Labara's Osca squad that won 46 medals - 18 gold, 17 silver and 11 bronze - at the championships. The squad also broke 27 Otago records.
The other high-flyer in the squad was Kurt Crosland (Neptune), who won seven senior men's medals - three gold, two silver and two bronze - and broke 10 Otago senior records.
His gold medals in the final two days were in the 50m backstroke (24.20sec) and 100m individual medley (54.68sec). They were both Otago records.
Andrew Trembath (Neptune), who relocated to Dunedin early this year when the family home received a red sticker after the Christchurch earthquake, won 10 medals - four gold, three silver and three bronze - in the boys aged 15 grade.
He also broke nine Otago records.
On the final two days, he won a bronze medal in the 50m backstroke (26.92sec) and gold in the 200m backstroke (2min 03.92sec).
Katie Kenneally (Neptune) won a gold and silver medal in the open women's grade and broke one Otago record. Her silver medal on the final day was in the 100m breaststroke in a personal best time of 1min 09.50sec.
Courtland Ellis (Neptune) won a bronze medal in the boys aged 13 100m individual medley and broke a long standing Otago record with his time of 1min 05.68sec.
The record was set by New Zealand junior representative Sam Carradus in 1997.
The other medals from the Osca squad were Han Zhang with seven medals - four gold, two silver and one bronze - in the boys aged 14 grade and Jeremy Hopkins with seven medals - two gold and five silver - in the same grade.
Olympian Andrew McMillan (Cromwell) won a gold medal in the open men's 200m butterfly in 1min 57.92sec and Carina Doyle (Waves) a bronze medal in the open women's 200m freestyle in 2min 04.21sec.
Neptune finished fourth in the clubs standings with 1652 points behind North Shore, Howick Pakuranga and the Capital Swim Club.
