The David Hutton-trained The Sydney Express has won over hurdles at Oamaru and Washdyke recently. His lone win on the flat was a maiden 1600m at Wingatui in June last year.
Rebecca Black can claim 3kg for The Sydney Express, who is racing over 2100m tomorrow.
Coup Ay Tee, a winner at Rosehill last Saturday, as been entered for the $230,000 group two Coupland's Bakeries Mile at Riccarton on November 15.
Coup Ay Tee is trained at Rosehill by Chris Waller for Christchurch owners Ray and Jill Coupland, who were married recently. Mr Coupland is sponsor of the race.
Coup Ay Tee has won four races in Australia after being exported from New Zealand early last year. The Danske-Flying Coup gelding won at Wingatui and Cromwell early in 2011 when trained by Michael Pitman.
Coup Ay Tee had three starts in New Zealand. Coup Ay Tee has amassed $230,000 in stakes.
The Couplands are also the owners of Coup Darci Be, who has been entered for the Coupland's Mile. The Pitman-trained Coup Darci Be has had three wins from five starts. The Darci Brahma-Besty Coup gelding began racing in February and he won his last start at Riccarton in May.
Ric O'Shea and Natuzzi are Otago-trained entrants for the Coupland's Mile. Natuzzi has not raced since he won the Southland Guineas in February. Trained by Paul Richards for Bill and Sandra Duell, of Mosgiel, Natuzzi has won three of his six starts.
The same connections have the unraced Our Santana, who has been entered for the New Zealand Two Thousand Guineas. The son of Coats Choice and Gold Halo was bought out of the Riccarton stable of Ross Beckett in May after placing in trials in Canterbury.
Natuzzi is also by Coats Choice and he was bought out of the Beckett stable.
Ric O'Shea has won five from 10.
The Steven Prince-trained gelding won four of his seven starts last season. He was put aside after finishing third to The Solitaire and Chaparella in an open 1600m at Wingatui in March.
• New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing has extended the deadline to September 26 for trainer Paul Harris to show cause why his licence should not be cancelled or withdrawn. He was suspended by the Integrity committee of NZTR after being declared bankrupt.
The suspension was varied to allow him to assist Emma Stackhouse, who has taken over as trainer for the stable.
