Bettor Cover Lover was making her first public appearance since she was badly injured in April.
She was in a four-horse workout yesterday.
"She jumped a shadow at the 300m after I had followed them around. She hasn't done that for ages. It was just a shame," Brent Mangos, her trainer-driver Mangos said.
"She has been working tremendous and felt really great."
Mangos said he planned to give Bettor Cover Lover three workouts or trials as a lead up to group one Queen Of Hearts at Alexandra Park on December 16.
"If I can't get three trials into her I will look at a race later in December before going to Addington for the big mares races."
Bettor Cover Lover has had a three and a-half month preparation, including a month in the swimming pool.
She was given a 50-50 chance of survival after she cut a hind hoof to the bone. She was being loaded on a plane in Melbourne to return to New Zealand after winning the Victoria Oaks final the previous night.
The hoof has grown back and X-rays indicate all is in order," Mangos said.
Bettor Cover Lover had also won a heat of the Oaks.
She won the Harness Jewels and Sires' Stakes Fillies Championship at group one level as a 2yr-old. Her record stands at 11 wins three seconds and a third from 15 starts.
