Auckland Reactor, favourite for the New Zealand Trotting Cup on November 10, is down to resume racing in a free-for-all at Addington on Friday night.
The 2600m race is from a standing start which has been a problem for Auckland Reactor.
The winner of 24 of his 27 starts and runner-up in two others, Auckland Reactor has not raced since winning the Harness Jewels race for 4yr-olds at Ashburton in 1.53.8 at the end of May.

Three generations of the same family driving in a race is not without precedent.
Three members of the McCormick family drove in the same race at Forbury Park on Friday night.
Lawrence McCormick drove Cathy Combo, trained by his grandfather, Doug, to win.
Doug and his son, David (father of Lawrence), also drove in the race.
David Butt, his son, Robert, and his father, Robin, drove in the same race at Palmerston North last November.
David trained and drove Top Gear to win with Robin second on Day Of Our Lives.
David Butt drove in the farewell race for his grandfather, Wes Butt, at Addington in June, 1981.
Robin also drove in the race won by Tuatahi Girl, driven by G Ryder and trained by Peter Ryder.
Wes, who had reached the then compulsory retiring age of 65, finished second with Strydom and Robin third with Jamie Higgins.
The McCormick win also had an equine family connection.
Cathy Combo was bred by Doug and his daughter, Susan Roulston, and traces through four generations to Silver Wood, who gave Doug his first win 56 years ago, at Oamaru.
Silver Wood, a Casanova-Smartly mare won four races as a pacer.
