An investigation into the running of Le Thunder at the South Canterbury meeting on July 19 continued in Christchurch yesterday under chief stipendiary steward Reid Sanders.
An inquiry was opened on July 19 by stipendiary steward Stewart Ching into the performance of the Michael Pitman-trained Le Thunder and the ride of Tracey Newton.
The inquiry was adjourned.
Le Thunder was slow away and finished seventh.
Newton was questioned about her lack of vigour in the home straight.
Sanders, accompanied by stipendiary steward Ross Neal, made the trip to Christchurch yesterday.
"We spoke to Michael Pitman and Tracey Newton and will now decide if any further action will be taken," Sanders said.
Brendon Burke declared a dead-heat in the Oamaru Cup on Sunday in his first day of judging at Oamaru.
Burke, a judge for Southland meetings, was substituting for Graeme Rowland, who was clerk of scales on Sunday.
John Mills, the usual clerk, is on leave.
