Kerry King, of Isla Bank, who trained Tappy Lee to win a 1200m maiden at Gore yesterday, will be seen in the role of amateur rider at Hastings tomorrow.

She has the mount on Solid Steal in a 2000m flat race.

Tappy Lee, a 3yr-old filly having her third start, is a half-sister to Tappy (nine wins), Caw (five) and Royal Tap (one), all trained by King.

Chris Johnson was fined $500 for a dual riding engagement.

Johnson rode Citycenta after a disputed engagement for Coat Of Arms in race 6. Lance Robinson took the mount on Coat Of Arms, who won the race. Citycenta finished seventh.

• Jockeys Nash Rawiller and Peter Mertens have lodged appeals against careless riding suspensions incurred at Doomben last Saturday, AAP reports.

Rawiller did not seek a stay of proceedings. He was suspended for 10 meetings for causing interference after winning the Doomben Cup on Mawingo.

The suspension has cost him the ride on Buffering in the Doomben 10,000 on Saturday and rules him out of the Queensland Oaks meeting at Eagle Farm on June 2.

Mertens was suspended for eight meetings after winning the The Roses on Invest.

His appeal will be heard on Friday.

His suspension is due to expire on Sunday week, the day after he planned to ride Invest in the Queensland Oaks.

• Absolutely is being campaigned in Brisbane in the hope of a rain-affected track.

Trained in Melbourne by Mick Kent, Absolutely is in thePremier's Cup (2200m) at Doomben on Saturday.

Absolutely, who has not raced since finishing ninth in the Doncaster Handicap on April 21, is being aimed at the Brisbane Cup.

Absolutely won a 1020m barrier trial at Doomben yesterday from Bianca Jewel. She ran her last 600m in 34.65.

"She hasn't raced for a month and whatever she does on Saturday she's going to take a lot of improvement," Kent said.
